WINE FOR THE BEGINNER
To many people, wine is throughly enjoyable, yet greatly intimidating. Do you find yourself ordering a Merlot or Pinot Grigio every time you dine out? Do the descriptions on the wine list cause anxiety for fear of mispronouncing a selection, choosing a bottle totally incompatible with the food, or one which nobody at the table will really like? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, you are not alone. In fact you are one of a large segment of people who believe they will never break down the barrier into the wine world. No matter how educated or accomplished, many simply feel incapable of surmounting the mystique surrounding wine. This course will literally change your life by exposing just how easy wine can be. You will learn how wine is made; the main varieties of grapes; wine terminology; how the taste and character of one wine differs from another; the main wine regions; pairing of food with wines; and much more. You will attain the knowledge to hold your own in a restaurant when the Sommelier presents the wine list, or if you are requested to make a good choice for the evening’s meal. The Beginner’s Course consists of four two hour classes, over a four week period.

EDWARD J. KOLOGI
A full time trial attorney, Edward has a passion for wine. He completed the famed Windows on the World Wine School under renowned wine expert Kevin Zraly, and most recently was awarded Level III Sommelier Certification by the Philadelphia/ National Wine School. He has also attended numerous wine classes and is currently pursuing Advanced Sommelier Certification.
